Salary: £22,001 - £23,708 per annum pro rata (0.39 FTE)
Applications are invited for the post of part-time HOMELINK Co-ordinator. The Co-ordinator is responsible to the Board of Trustees of HOMELINK for running the HOMELINK office and supervising the work of volunteers. The main duties are the interviewing of prospective applicants and managing contacts with clients.
HOMELINK is a registered Charity offering interest-free loans for rent in advance and/or damage deposit to those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, in order for them to access private rented accommodation. HOMELINK works in partnership with Lewes District Council Housing Department and Sussex Pathways. The person appointed will need to have a good knowledge of Lewes District and be in sympathy with the Christian values which underlie the work of HOMELINK. The present Co-ordinator has offered to work alongside the successful candidate for a suitable period.
The Co-ordinator will be based mainly in the HOMELINK office in Lewes and will work an average of 14 hours per week, normally during office hours, as determined by mutual agreement. The Co-ordinator should be able to travel to work in offices in Seaford and Newhaven.
The post is externally funded by a grant from the Henry Smith Charity until April 2013. However, funding is available for a further year and other sources of funding are being sought with a view to offering the post for a longer period.
The salary will be in the range £22,001 - £23,708 per annum pro rata (0.39 FTE) based on the NJC (National Joint Council for Local Government Services) scale.
