The issue isn't really when they're parked though, it's when they're moving around. I'm amazed that a pedestrian hasn't been quite seriously injured at the station. You never know which direction a car might come from, including reversing and turning at the same time with barely a glance. There are no road markings in the layby area at the front, so in effect it's a very wide piece of road, and someone crossing to the shop or the ATM takes their life in their hands. Once you've got the kid from Priory pouring out it's total anarchy. I would really like to see a crossing point somewhere along there.

Most taxi drivers would like to see a 10mph speed zone at the station, at least four crossings and all non taxi/bus/handicap pickup /drop offs done in the station carpark, also a one way system for that carpark ie down the ramp and out via pinwell lane,Unless the town push for this sort of idea ,It will not happen because the railway own the land and they wont spend the money.

So yes taxi drivers may have to do a harder test than normal people - but just as most drivers wouldn't be able to pass a regular driving test a few years after they pass - taxi drivers wouldn't either

I agree with the previous comments about exiting the Station car park. I park in Pinwell and exiting onto Station Street is quite frightening. Not infrequently I just have to pull out into the Southover Road/Station Road junction and hope for the best. Getting entangled with someone attempting to enter the Pinwell Road as I'm leaving it is always entertaining too.
Has anyone else noticed how quickly Station Road is subsiding over the north east end of the station car park?

the interesting bit is that when the item is claimed they should be paid 5 pence in the pound of its value as a reward or the fare if its bought back to you in person to a max of five pounds to cover the costs. I must say I have never heard of this being charged, but I expect some may have .
I once heard of a guy who lost his passport in a taxi and was so rude to the driver that the driver took it to the police station rather than back to him , and guess what, its hard to get back to lewes and back to gatwick when your plane is due .
