    Nor does it surprise me that you people continue to claim Tony Blair is the darling of the left. Was it the abandonment of clause 4 that led you down that path? Or was it the introduction of uni fees or the sucking up to Bush and illegally dragging us into their oil war? Maybe it was the de-regulation of the banks or his claim that Thatcher was "the greatest Prime Minister of our time"? I'd agree 100% that a Blair presidency doesn't bear thinking about.
    And, for the record, I'd much rather live in Cuba than North Korea any day.

The Germans quite rightly gave the Kaiser the boot in 1918 - and Hitler got in promising the monarchists he'd restore the Hohenzollerns to the throne. I noticed the German people didn't take the opportunity to restore the monarchy in 1945.

    1918, 96yrs ago, very different times, hardly worth discussion. In 1945 I would imagine the German nation was too intent on restoring their water, electric and other essential services to concentrate too much on the possiblity of a monarchy
