I have 2 x tickets for RITB (£60 worth) and have just see the refunds were available only last Friday and Saturday at particular times in the JHT. I couldn't get there but want my money back. What now?

Yes I would like to know the answer too as I have a ticket. £30 is £30 and I would like it back

Just think of it as a donation for all the years of free entertainment , I should add I am nothing to do with the cliffe bonfire society

Lol yes I think you'll find that the refund system was deliberately restrictive. Still, if you were prepared to pay 30 notes to watch cover bands then you were going to be robbed anyway.

What 10 bands for £30 thats £3 a band! Only 3 of the bands were cover bands so get you facts right!!

But it was cancelled so it was £30 for no bands. My facts are right.

You've Been Had - apart from losing any credibility by starting your post 'lol', you are also talking nonsense. £30 for 10 bands (7 of which original material), plus free camping, plus cheap beer, plus a great atmosphere over the whole weekend, plus refunds are available if you can be bothered to go via the right channels instead of just moaning about it on here. What do you expect to get for for £30? (£10 for kids) Where else could you get a weekend of entertainment and keep your kids happy for less than that these days?

If you can't be bothered (or organised) to claim a refund, your tickets will be valid for next years event.

Fancy joining in the fun at our Southover Bonfire Society Torchmakers’ camp?

Where? Boathouse Farm, Isfield (just outside Lewes)
Just £10 per adult and £5 per child

Southover Bonfire Society is celebrating the end of the summer holidays and the start of the Bonfire Season with our second annual Torchmakers’ Family Camp in beautiful countryside near Lewes.
The weekend is open to Society members and their guests, so you can bring along the friends and family that you want to camp with.
Come and learn how to make torches and support the society by making the first of the many hundreds of torches needed for our spectacular celebrations on November 5th. We’re hoping to get plenty of families along, both old and new members, to spend the weekend meeting each other, learning about bonfire and just having fun.
As well as torchmaking, you can enjoy camping on this beautiful private site with swimming and boating on the Ouse; a fantastic campsite fire; plus traditional games such as rounders, football and Tug of War.
Tickets are just £10 per adult/ £5 per child. We do need to know numbers in advance, so if you’re interested, do let us know by the end of 31st July 2012

@Itsnotrocket science and @Additional. It's not a case of not being bothered. As the event was cancelled, I looked for and found something else to do out of town so was not around for the short sharp strict times to get my refund. If the tickets are good for next year then I will hold on to them no problem.
I'm not after anything other than the security of my own money. There are no guidelines on the RITB website so was just asking here in case someone could spread some light. Sorry for breathing!

Apart from the bit on their website concerning refunds that says 'If you require any further information then please contact us' rather than 'if you require any further information have a moan on Lewes Forum'

You guys get lost every year ! Since when has Southover Road been in Cliffe ? Cant you lot afford a bonfire site in your own bog ?

I didn't realise IBS owned their own field? Oh no wait, they don't! They also don't own their own ideas, they take them. Equally IBS can get away from CLIFFE Bridge with their barrel (although most years to be fair it does end up in the middle of the road)??!!

Oh and they wear bathrobes and look like Dennis the Menace, no style the lot of 'em!

AND they steal our torches (as witnessed last year!!!) Perhaps they want to learn how to make a decent one.

Cliffe are a good bunch of people, just a shame some of the ones with webbed feet let the rest of them down :-)
