Some young nutter had a go at me earlier.
First I'd swerved to avoid him coming out of a junction, then he drove up my backside. I stopped and we had one of those 'window conversations', during which he invited me to 'sort it out' - after I'd taken my children home. Nice.
Question is, is there any point in reporting this to the police? No idea what car he was in, etc. Just verbal assault.
Bad vibes in Lewes. Not good.

You will probably find that his wife wears the trousers at home and this is the only way he can convince himself that he is a man. More to be pitied than hated.

Should have taken his car reg and yes I would have reported him.
Men under the age of 35 shouldn't be allowed to drive until they are able to control their testosterone driven desire to drive like plonkers.

Just carry a replica pistol in the glove box, usually silences most goons.
I watched a Hells Angel do exactly that once on a dual carriageway after a small van pulled out in front of him. He overtook him and then pulled out a very realistic looking hand gun. Change of shorts time for the van man.

Get a motorbike. People rarely get arsey when you're wearing a full-face crash helmet, gloves with plastic knuckles and heavy protective boots.

Parent said that Reg should have taken his car, that's a bit extreme eh!

Yes, legally it is assault. I'm not sure about getting a motorbike though - the mortality rate of motorcyclists is much higher.

I had a driver speed up as I was overtaking him up the Broyle today. He was going well under the speed limit. A car was coming towards me, and I would still have had enough time to overtake safely and be on my way, but the silly sod decided to put all our lives at risk by being a prick! I would have loved to have lobbed a hand-grenade out my window at him - grrrr!!

I was done for speeding the other day by a speed cop, I tried to explain that I had a dodgy curry last night and was desperately trying to find a sh..t house. Well sir he said, this is your lucky day because you have just found one.

I have encountered Bongo's situation many times over the years. But the other driver is usually middle-aged, and should know better. You shouldn't be on the
road with a chip on your shoulder about being overtaken.
Police advice is to just drop back, for safety.

My favourite place to scare the crap out of someone is when turning left at Clayhill, towards Barcombe Mills, heading north on the A26.
There is no overtaking there as indicated by the hatched white area in the middle of the road.
If some one overtakes me there and there is no one waiting to come out from the turning, I cancel my indicator and carry straight on.
Makes me laugh and makes them think.

I think that driving too slowly is also a cause of accidents. People get so pious about speed, but there's no reason why anyone should drive under 50mph on a long, straight uncongested 'A' road, when the signs indicate the national spped limit. Of course, some people who overtake are dangerous, impatient idiots, but if I'm on a six-mile stretch of road, stuck behind someone doing 35mph, I will overtake if I can do it safely and if they suddenly accelerate because I've offended them, they are guilty of dangerous driving.
The worst cases are people who drive really slowly or erratically, going from 40 to 60, then back down to 40 again. When I finally drive past, I usually find that they're talking on their mobile!

I really dislike it when people treat their cars (and their driving) as weapons. I would like to see the traffic police back on the roads and booking the irresponsible drivers
