Before the digital switchover I got good reception from the Heathfield transmitter for the usual tv channels. Since the switchover I have lost all BBC channels including the radios and now have 72 channels including Russia Today and Al Jazeera. I have retuned dozens of times, had 8 calls to digitaluk, 2 to Toshiba, and an e-mail to the BBC, done what they told me to do and still no BBC. Has anyone else had this experience? I live in New Malling

Hopefully someone can sort your problem as that shouldn't be happening, but if you have easy access to your aerial, you could point it towards the Lewes transmitter instead (County Hall I think). It's Freeview Lite from there so you won't have as big a range of channels (no Film4, ITV 3 or 4 etc) but imagine BBC channels will be more important to you. Of course if you still can't get the BBC from there then there must be something going wrong with your TV or freeview box.

Who wants the Biased Broadcasting Corporation anyway? On Sunday, forced indoors by the rain, we tried to watch the news. Ten minutes late it came on; then ten minutes news about the tennis that had just ended. What's happening in Syria, etc? When the announcer said "now for the rest of the news" we cheered, and tried not to blink in case we missed it.
Thank goodness for satellite TV. More choice, and intelligent programmes, even if they are constantly repeated.

I'm in Malling with an arial pointing to Heathfield and I'm getting a good signal on all BBC channels. One point to note is that when I first bought a digibox many years back I found I also had to get a new aerial and since then several of my neighbours have done this as well.

I too have lost many channels though BBC's are fine. Film 4 and ITV 4 not available though. I have a Humax and for some strange reason after the retune on 27th June when I retune I only get Kent as a transmission option whereas before it was always East Sussex or Kent and I could choose. Humax have no technical reason why this should happen so it can only be a transmission issue. Eventually I removed all channels by removing the aerial and performing an automatic retune. When completed reconnect the aerial and do a manual retune on channels 41, 42, 44, 47, 49 & 52. You should turn off your digibox when disconnecting and reconnecting the aerial and you should check the signal level each time with DVBT or DVBT2 selected. You will not get HD channels on DVBT only, it must be DVBT-2. I think it only applies to channel 47, not too sure now but try all cominations for each retune for signal detection first.
I can now get Dave again though Film4 and ITV4 require a wideband aerial so I assume we do not have one.

I should add that I have a 2 year old digital tv, (no box) and the aerial is a modern digital aerial. The reception used to be good on BBC and is now good on ITV 1, 2, 3 and channels 4, 5 Film 4, 5 USA, Film 4 all th +1's, etc, etc but no BBC not even CBBC. I get good reception on the radios, Heat, Kerrang whatever, but no BBC. I have retuned with the aerial out, unplugged the tv, switched on again and re-tuned, then maually retuned all as advised by digitaluk and Toshiba but still absolutely no BBC.

i live in new malling and have all channels still including BBC after the swithch over, we have a digital aerial and all is fine with our digibox upstairs and its re-tuned all ok, we have a Humax free sat in the lounge and get all channels including BBC..all strange why you cant forlorn, hope you sort it out !!!

My aerial is pointed at Heathfield and I have all of the BBC channels (including HD) - although I've had a retune three times.

My signal comes from Heathfield and is fine on all channels, except for an irritating hum on BBC1 on one tv. This has only happened since the switchover and hasn't gone despite several retunings.

ACT - that irritating hum may be the director general. Wait till the new (lower paid) one takes over to see f it continues.
