Has anyone else noticed that in order to get anywhere in Lewes at the moment is like taking part in an episode of total wipeout.
I have just walked along the Offham road up into Fisher street then down School Hill and the Cliffe. It is terrible. If traffic cones were £1 coins I'd be loaded. You are constantly walking under scaffold everwhere and tripping over sandwich boards. I was under the impression that the boards need some sort of permission to be on the street? 1st prize for the best placed board goes to the Snowdrop. It is placed on the junction of Cliffe high street, South Street and Malling Street. By on the junction I mean on the pavement blocking the view from the Cliffe exit down South Street.
Any views?

Yes. Its a mess that represents the complete lack of joined up thinking, by the people we pay to deal reasonably with basic day to day town living. Come on you lot, get your act together. No town is perfect, but anywhere else would have basic policies for this kind of thing. Am surprised we dont have to jump over 4 giant squishy red balls to get across the Pells. mind you, we do have the Heart of Weeeds. Remember that expensive white elephant? No?, no-one does. Anne de Vecchi claimed it would be a major tourist attraction. They even managed to p*ss the artist off. You have to laugh, or you would cry.

Another interesting thing about the 'heart of weeds' is that LDC never actually asked for tenders for the work - which is most irregular.

Another interesting thing about the heart of weeds??!! Surely that sentence is an oxymoron. Change the record man, no one cares about the heart of darkness/weeds whatever. It's there, if you don't like it, fly tip it and gradually fill the darn hole in!

But it all matters to people that like to moan, if they didn't moan they'd have nothing to live for. Thats the problem with society today, it's always someone elses fault, whatever the problem. Get a grip you moaning miseries, no one with a life actually cares about your continual whinging, stop it now!

In what may be a Lewes first, the road works in the High Street have finished already, a week early!
Either that or there simply aren't any more cones left in the region so they've had to move them elsewhere.
