East Sussex's Transport and Environment Scrutiny Committee will examine the county's winter maintenance policy and its operation.
The meeting will take place at 10am on Wednesday, 10 March 2010 in County Hall, Lewes and is open to the public.
Karl Taylor, Assistant Director Transport and Environment, and his team will explain the current policy, how this was applied in the recent extreme weather conditions and outline the lessons that have been identified as a result.
The County's Transport and Environment Scrutiny Committee will review and explore the issues that have come to light as a result of the recent severe weather events to see what, if any, changes to the Council's policies and strategy could be considered.
In preparation, the Scrutiny Committee is keen to hear from partners and individuals with feedback along with suggestions for any practical and potentially affordable improvements that might be made in the light of the recent experience.
Please email scrutiny@eastsussex.gov.uk with your ideas.
All comments received will then be compiled and summarised for the Committee on 10 March to use when making any recommendations to Cabinet for future action.
