A good month for Harveys?

I think the Best suffers during the summer months and for me it's tastiest in November, when it can be enjoyed alongside Bonfire Boy and Old on tap and much merriment can be had. I've not myself noticed a seasonal variation in Best, in the beer itself, and would suggest that the variation probably comes as much from the ambient temperature, the seasonal cellar temperature in the pub in which you're drinking it, turnover on the pump, and your state of mind during the different seasons of the year etc. Perhaps during the warmest months some of the more subtle top notes on the nose are lost but then I think they probably are on all beers in the summer, which is why a so-called 'golden ale' with a fairly straightforward hoppy/citrussy nose and a bit more cut on the palate can seem more appealing. Of the seasonals, Porter is my favourite and in my view is a much better more 'serious' beer than Old. Shame it's not on tap for longer. Bonfire Boy's too strong for me.
