Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt, Kristin Scott Thomas
Directed by Lasse Hallstrom
A Feel-good British romantic comedy from Lasse Halstrom, director of CHOCOLAT, and the screenwriter of SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE.
When Britain's leading fisheries expert (Ewan McGregor) is approached by a consultant (Emily Blunt) to help realise a sheikh's vision of bringing the sport of fly-fishing to the desert, he immediately thinks the project is both absurd and unachievable. But when the Prime Minister's overzealous press secretary (Kristin Scott Thomas) latches on to it as a "good will" story, this unlikely team will put it all on the line and embark on an upstream journey of faith and fish to prove the impossible, possible.

Brighton-based band The Dials fuse psychedelia, 60's garage, surf and country into a whole new inimitable form. A blistering live act, the band were voted 'best gig' at Canada's NXNE music industry showcase and were winners of the PRS Award for New Music.
'In possession of a slew of a great 60's records with well-thumbed sleeves, Brighton's Dials are rarely shy when it comes to acknowledging their sources. This second album glides effortlessly between the harmonic swoon of The Byrds ('Watch her walk away'), the poppier elements of the Velvets (the Farfisa stab of 'NY Radio') and the child-like psych of Syd Barret's Pink Floyd ('Good Morning Mr Magpie'). All are despatched with brio and genuine affection for every genre that crosses their radar' Terry Stanton, Uncut
'I know its one of those albums I'm going to treasure for a long long time' Mark Lammar, BBC Radio 2
Many knowledgeable heads nod sagely in their direction; Gideon Coe and Mark Lamarr are fans, and now having heard their album, I understand why.........a great band' Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2

An Optimist's Tour of the Future
Mark Stevenson has been to the future a few years ahead of the rest of us – and came back believing we still have everything to play for. His voyage of discovery took him to Boston to visit a robot with mood swings, to an underwater cabinet meeting in the Indian Ocean, and Australia to question the Outback’s smartest farmer, had his genome profiled, and glimpsed the next stage of human evolution … then he tried to make sense of what’s in store.
The result was An Optimist’s Tour of the Future, which is finding fans from schoolchildren through to Nobel Peace Prize winners. Mark will talk of the future of humanity and how technology will help remedy some of these problems.
Mark combines two careers – one as a successful writer and comedian and as co-founder and director of the cultural learning agency Flow Associates and the science communication agency ReAgency, Roving Learner at The Age of Smart, a fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce and Nibmaster General for the Ministry of Stories.

The Toy Hearts are one of the UK's hottest acoustic acts right now, their style of music neatly placing them at the forefront of the resurgence of interest in folk and Americana music. 2010 saw this hard working band touring across the UK, Europe and the USA. The culmination of their work so far being the national release of their third album "Femme Fatale" in September, which was recorded in Nashville TN earlier in the year. Fronted by sisters Hannah (mandolin) and Sophia (guitar), accompanied by banjo/dobro, bass and fiddle, the band draws upon the genres of Bluegrass, Western Swing and Gypsy Jazz for inspiration. By combining original songwriting, sweet sister harmonies, hard driving rhythms and energetic performances, The Toy Hearts have developed a truly unique sound that leaves their audiences breathless and ready for more!
As this is a bit of a Union Party to celebrate end of the season for us we have two support bands for you; our very own Jamie Freeman with his band The Agreement and Union favourites Early Ghost
Tickets are £10/£8 from Union Music Store or online at wegottickets

Reiki Level 1 Certificated Course with Sue Hall
10:00am
@
Equilibrium Health Centre
Sue's classes are friendly and informal, and you will experience the simple method of how Reiki is performed. Learning Reiki is not an academic exercise so it is suitable for people of all ages.
During a Reiki treatment, the hands are placed lightly on 12 basic positions on the fully clothed body. The Reiki energy naturally activates and radiates via the palms of the practitioner’s hands. The recipient’s own healing mechanisms draw the right amount of energy wherever needed on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.
Reiki allows the recipient to enter a state of balance where healing can take place. It is a transformational energy that can be life changing.
On successful completion of the 2 day course, you will receive a Reiki Level 1 Certificate. The course runs from 10.00am to 5.00pm each day and the cost of £150 includes free refreshments throughout the course.
