I have been working as a counsellor and subsequently as a psychotherapist since 1991. My clients have come from all walks of life, differing lifestyles and cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

My professional experience has included general and bereavement counselling.

I work with feelings of fearfulness; anxiety; grief; rejection; depression; abandonment; sadness; loss; disappointment; feeling isolated; a need to take stock; shame; bereavement; living with a life limiting / threatening disorder (yourself or someone close to you); low self esteem; jealousy; anger; ageing; despair.

I have a particular interest in the experience of parents of children with disabilities, the parenting of children with a life threatening disorder and what it means to lose a child.

I have an MA in Core Process Psychotherapy and I'm accredited by the United Kingdom Council For Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Core Process Psychotherapy is a mindfulness-based approach that draws both from western psychotherapy and the wisdom and compassion of Buddhist psychology. The model enables us to explore in depth how we are in relation to present experience and how this includes our past conditioning.

By turning towards, rather than away from, difficult feelings it's possible to develop greater flexibility, movement and responsiveness when faced with life's inevitable challenges.
