What about the people who always put the rubbish out the same day as normal after a bank holiday, short term memory loss! It can't be that hard to remember.
The pavements in Lewes are looking particularly messy at the moment, I miss that generation of householders who use to sweet up outside their front doors, clear the weeds and generally have a bit of pride. Sorry to be so reactionary but my new neighbours have turned a nice looking house into a bit of a squat.

We put our food bin out this morning as usual. Went to bring it in this afternoon and it had more food in it than before. How does that work?

I am afraid that the Sussex Express has much to explain. It has provided totally biased support for many years to Norman Baker and the LibDem Party. Astonishingly, it gave enormous coverage to UKIP the week before the ESCC elections on 2 May to the exclusion of ALL other parties and this must have endorsed and added to UKIP's electoral support. It may have meant that a few UKIP Councillors were elected who were only undeserving paper/joke candidates.

Exactly - the units were empty after Angel's site assembly process, so NAMA thought that any money was better than none when they inherited the bad debt. That is no reason why the rents should continue to be so low when the rest of the area is redeveloped.
By making the point about regeneration, you sound like James Page - that's probably precisely why he suggests that the Lewes lot could move to Newhaven!

There used to be a Next in Lewes, Roly Mo, but it closed down. I daresay they didn't find it sufficiently lucrative.

Mind you, I'm not surprised. I bought 2 jumpers in the sale and they're both still going strong and showing negligible signs of wear, despite being at least 15 years old.

I remember the NEXT well (did my work experience there). I'm pretty sure it did well as it was the only chain store in Lewes at that time, selling clothes. It closed down after it flooded, unfortunately.
