Is there any truth in the rumour that Pleisure Inc are pulling out of the Lamb and that Wetherspoons are after it?

Would that be Tim Wetherspoons the American boxer who beat Frank Bruno and occasionally can be seen sipping a pint of larger outside the JHT?

Don't think it's a big enough site for a Wetherspoons, they work on enconomies of scale.
The last place they tried to buy was Ransoms, but they were meet with stern opposition.

I've only been to the Lamb twice in all my years in Lewes - once to discover what an awful place it is. The second time just to confirm it.

Whoever takes it over, I hope they learn to sweep up the broken glass in the street outside. My dog nearly picked up a nasty cut a couple of weeks ago

Do the district council ever do any street cleaning round here ? I walk to the station early every day and never see anyone sweeping/ cleaning whilst traffic is light. That glass has been there ages. Is it contracted out to a private company and if so are they taking the pi** ?

I always assumed the council hoped that a combination of high winds and flooding would clear the rubbish. The local authority motto is, as we know, 'Pay more, get less'.

If you actually go into The Lamb it's a beautiful pub (and building). However it serves as one of the pubs which cater to the younger crowd - fair enough, we all need somewhere to go for a pint when we're 18 or so.

It does seem empty nearly every night though...

The Lamb also has a fantastic range of spirits, far, far better than any other pub in town and it'll be a shame if whoever takes it over changes that.

Street cleaners are now only there to be seen cleaning and not to actually clean the streets. So long as they appear to be there, is more relevant to the council than actually doing a good job. It's cheaper because the street cleaners can be in many places in one day as opposed to one place in many days if they were actually alllowed to do their jobs properly.

Went past the "youth Club" aka The Lamb yesterday morning, there were some fantastic piles of Puke on the pavement. Shame I didn't have my spoon with me.
Would be nice if the staff cleaned up after the children have gone home, oh and perhaps also clean up the broken car wing mirrors that seem to fall to the ground when the little cherubs have passed by. Oh to be young again! Nah wot ime sayin innit! Now wheres me hoodie innit. I was never young of course LOL
